This week we applied Resin to our new piece, "Wormsloe Remix" This is the original piece but in a beautiful, antiqued tint. Resin brings the piece to life, giving it a glossy look. It is simply stunning! Want to know how we did it? Take a look:
First we stained our handmade wood frame. This will give it a 3-D look once it is all done. Then, we mounted the canvas onto the stained wood using Miracle Muck.
Next, we began the resin process. We measured equal parts of the resin and hardener, stiring it for 4 minutes. Once it was mixed we poured an even amount on the surface of the piece.
The next step was the tricky part. Bubbles may form in the resin, which is normal. Using the blow torch, we chased the bubbles around the canvas until they were gone. This step took about an hour. True dedication!
Now we wait.... While the resin dries, we have been working on the website to make sure you have a great experience browsing through the artwork and purchasing pieces. Have a great week WonderWorks fam!
